- The original Gateway 2000 Telepath 14.4 modem was not the greatest but I
- used one for about 2 years and it worked fine until my phone line took a
- lightening hit in July and killed the thing.
-
- The new Telepath 14.4 & 28.8 modem, which Gateway 2000 is currently
- selling, is made by US Robotics. It a private lable (OEM) version of
- the USR Sportster Vi. I think that is a good product and Gateway's
- price of $149, for the 28.8 model, is a lot less than the street price
- of the USR Sprotster Vi.
